WATER RESTRICTION ISSUED

The City of Remsen has issued a water restriction due to the dry weather conditions. Residents are asked to refrain from watering their lawns during the hours of 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM. Residents with even numbered houses may water their lawns on even number calendar days outside of those hours and houses with odd numbers may water on odd calendar days outside those hours. We thank you in advance for your cooperation.

Normal Garbage/Recycling Schedule Week of February 19

The City Offices and Library will be closed on Monday, February, 19th in observance of President’s Day. The Recycling pick up schedule will be NORMAL, meaning pick up will be made on Monday and Tuesday.

Snow Removal Reminders

Just a reminder that it is unlawful to throw, push, or place any ice or snow from private property, sidewalks, driveways, etc. into the traveled way of a street or alley. (Iowa Code Sec 364.12 [2])

Property owners shall remove snow, ice and accumulations from sidewalks within 24 hours. If it is not done in 24 hours, the City may complete the work and assess the cost against the property. (Iowa Code Sec 364.12 [2b & e])
