Snow Removal Reminders

Just a reminder that it is unlawful to throw, push, or place any ice or snow from private property, sidewalks, driveways, etc. into the traveled way of a street or alley. (Iowa Code Sec 364.12 [2])

Property owners shall remove snow, ice and accumulations from sidewalks within 24 hours.  If it is not done in 24 hours, the City may complete the work and assess the cost against the property.  (Iowa Code Sec 364.12 [2b & e])

 

 

WINTER PARKING

WINTER PARKING IS IN EFFECT (NOVEMBER 1 – APRIL 1)

PARKING IS PROHIBITED ON ANY RESIDENTIAL PUBLIC STREET, ALLEY OR CITY OWNED OFF-STREET PARKING AREA DURING THE HOURS OF 12:00 AM TO 6:00 AM.

PARKING IS PROHIBITED ON ANY BUSINESS PUBLIC STREET, ALLEY OR CITY OWNED OFF-STREET PARKING AREA DURING THE HOURS OF 2:00 AM – 6:00 AM.

FINES ARE $25 PLUS TOWING CHARGES. IF YOU HAVE QUESTIONS/CONCERNS REGARDING THIS PLEASE CONTACT POLICE CHIEF MIKE SPARR.

Christmas Tree is up on Main Street

A reminder to drive carefully around the tree at the intersection of Washington and 2nd Street. When making a left turn, go past the tree on the right side and then turn, driving slowly around the tree. Do NOT turn on the left side in front of the tree!

PUBLIC NOTICE

The City of Remsen is accepting sealed bids for two pickup tool boxes with a minimum total bid of $300. For more information contact Kevin at 786-2150.  Sold as is and the City reserves the right to reject any or all bids. Bids due to City Hall, Attn: City Council by 4:00 p.m. August 23, 2017.
