Local businesses and residences have been asked to complete a Cross-Connection Risk Assessment Survey in the last week. It is important that these surveys are completed and returned to City Hall so that if needed, safeguards can be installed to protect the water system in Remsen. The purpose of the survey is to eliminate any potential contamination sources and provide the best quality water possible to the citizens of Remsen. Thank you in advance for your cooperation.
The City of Remsen is now accepting applications for an assistant clerk position. Prospective candidates should have basic computer and accounting knowledge, customer service experience and the ability to multi task. Please submit resume and applications to City Hall, 008 W 2nd Street, Remsen, IA 51050 by September 22, 2017.
The City Hall office hours will be closed the afternoons of Wednesday, September 6-Friday, September 8 so that the employees can attend a workshop. The summer hours of 9:00-12:00, 1:00-4:00 will resume on Monday, September 11, 2017.
The City of Remsen will begin trimming trees hanging over the City streets. Homeowners are encouraged to trim their own trees to a height of 15 feet above the street. Tree trimming will be completed in the months of September and October.
The City of Remsen is accepting sealed bids for two pickup tool boxes with a minimum total bid of $300. For more information contact Kevin at 786-2150. Sold as is and the City reserves the right to reject any or all bids. Bids due to City Hall, Attn: City Council by 4:00 p.m. August 23, 2017.
The City of Remsen passed an Ordinance prohibiting the use of First Class Fireworks in the city limits. Failure to comply may result in fines up to $250. If you have any questions contact a council member or Fire Chief Kevin Ortmann.
