Accepting Applications for Part-time seasonal help

The City of Remsen is now accepting applications for part-time summer help. This includes lifeguards and ball park maintenance.  Applications can be picked up at City Hall or obtained online at www.remseniowa.org  under the FORMS tab.   Reimbursement is available for those obtaining lifeguard and WSI certifications.  All employees are subject to a pre-employment drug screening.  Completed applications can be dropped off at City Hall, 008 W 2nd Street, Remsen, IA 51050.  Application deadline is April 1, 2018.

Snow Removal Reminders

Just a reminder that it is unlawful to throw, push, or place any ice or snow from private property, sidewalks, driveways, etc. into the traveled way of a street or alley. (Iowa Code Sec 364.12 [2])

Property owners shall remove snow, ice and accumulations from sidewalks within 24 hours.  If it is not done in 24 hours, the City may complete the work and assess the cost against the property.  (Iowa Code Sec 364.12 [2b & e])

 

 

WINTER PARKING

WINTER PARKING IS IN EFFECT (NOVEMBER 1 – APRIL 1)

PARKING IS PROHIBITED ON ANY RESIDENTIAL PUBLIC STREET, ALLEY OR CITY OWNED OFF-STREET PARKING AREA DURING THE HOURS OF 12:00 AM TO 6:00 AM.

PARKING IS PROHIBITED ON ANY BUSINESS PUBLIC STREET, ALLEY OR CITY OWNED OFF-STREET PARKING AREA DURING THE HOURS OF 2:00 AM – 6:00 AM.

Christmas Tree is up on Main Street

A reminder to drive carefully around the tree at the intersection of Washington and 2nd Street. When making a left turn, go past the tree on the right side and then turn, driving slowly around the tree. Do NOT turn on the left side in front of the tree!
